Body Centered Psychotherapy

In contrast to Cognitive or “talk” therapy, Body Psychotherapy actually helps you connect with and use your body’s natural resources to integrate body, mind and spirit. You become a witness/participant in what wants to happen naturally, move into your most authentic response, and release old habitual reactions to learn how to live in a vibrant, full-bodied, celebration of life. Integrating body, mind, spirit, and emotions using gentle touch, along with verbal dialogue, active listening, Gestalt Process, imagery, metaphor, movement to invite the body into the healing process. Your body houses your life story, your feelings and beliefs; it is an integral part of your healing process.

Unacknowledged feelings from past experiences are stored in your body and then unconsciously have a powerful effect on who you are, how you behave, and how you feel about yourself.
Using the body as the gateway to awareness, buried feelings and memories can surface, freeing you from old patterns and energy blocks that keep you feeling stuck and unable to live life to its fullest. Your mind may avoid certain emotions and memories, but your body remembers it all.
